Artist Statement
Through a combination of sculpture, photography, and furniture design, my artwork explores themes of collection, memory, and security in American culture. Rescuing and transforming old objects into something new is symbolic for my journey to become an artist later in life. And through teaching other people how they can also design, build, and photograph their own scaled down furniture and accessories, new life can be given to objects and materials that might otherwise be discarded.
