About

Artist Statement

Through combining sculpture, photography, and furniture making, my artwork explores themes of collection, memory, and security in American culture.  Rescuing and transforming old objects into something new is symbolic for my journey to become an artist later in life.

Through making doll furniture from found objects, I aspire to teach children how to design and build their own toys, rejecting dependence on mass-produced merchandise. Older viewers can also relate to the history of the physical artifacts and enter the photographic narratives through their own lenses of domestic experience.
